WINDSOR, CT - May 30, 2000 — SS&C Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SSNC) recently held its STP Solution Summit 2000 annual client conference, highlighted by a captivating keynote address from Michio Kaku, best-selling author and speaker, discussing "How Technology will Transform the 21st Century." Mr. Kaku reiterated SS&C's vision of the Internet as changing the paradigm in information delivery, and discussed technology ranging from Internet accessibility via a wristwatch to virtual reality technology that will be available through standard eyeglasses all available within the next 10 to 15 years.
"E-Series" Web-Enabled Applications and "Virtual" Access Via Personal Digital Assistants
SS&C treated clients at the STP Solution Summit 2000 to a preview of technology scheduled for release during the second half of 2000. A great deal of SS&C's development efforts during the last year and a half have focused on delivering high-content applications that extend clients' access and ease-of-use, incorporating the latest technologies and relying heavily on the Internet for accessibility and information delivery. Clients were particularly excited about SS&C's upcoming releases that extend accessibility to the Company's XE for Asset Management™ product suite via wireless connections using personal digital assistants such as the Palm VII. This exciting demonstration featured a trader in the hotel lobby entering a trade into SS&C's Antares XE front-office trading system, which was immediately loaded to the CAMRA XE back-office portfolio management system, and shown in the on-line Blotter. SS&C expects this technology to be released in Q3 2000.
SS&C also debuted its "E-Series" Web-enabled applications at the Summit, which will enable SS&C clients and their clients to access data and services resident in SS&C applications over the Internet. Much of this technology is already in place in SS&C's ASP/BPO (Application Service Provider/Business Process Outsourcer), SS&C DirectSM, today. It will be available to SS&C clients during Q3 2000 for SS&C's CAMRA 2000 asset management, reporting, and accounting system, Antares 2000 trade order management and P&L reporting system, Debt & Derivatives 2000 derivative portfolio management and accounting system, SKYLINE II real estate property management system, LMS 2000 commercial loan management, reporting, and accounting system, AdvisorWare investment management system, Total Return 2000 hedge and family wealth management system, PTS 2000 asset liability management system, and Finesse 2000 Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA) system.
In addition, the Company demonstrated its new "Internet Portal" product and service suite, which is scheduled to be available during Q2 2000. This new Internet Portal technology enables companies to leverage and consolidate available technologies, incorporating portfolio, analytic, and market data with news and other services, and using the Internet for information delivery and access. Using this new technology, clients will be able to use their browser to access enhanced views and "slice and dice" capabilities, reporting access, and links to outside sources.
Client feedback received in the week following the conference has been extremely positive on all aspects of the conference.
"Not only was I able to learn a great deal about SS&C's existing products at this year's conference, I also was excited to see some of the new technology coming out of SS&C towards the end of this year," said Julie Warren, Managing Director at New York Life Asset Management.
"The information I learned from discussions with SS&C experts and with other users will help my company utilize CAMRA to its fullest potential," said Austin R. Barry, Financial Systems Analyst at Los Angeles-based SunAmerica Inc.
