A Resolution Worth Keeping
By: Stephanie Hodnett
So here’s a new year's resolution you can live with: Slow down in 2012. Take breaks. Procrastinate. Let your mind wander. Look out the window and dream of spring. Don’t check your phone and ignore your email for a minute. Maybe you will become a little bit bored, and in that space where boredom grows, you might find some interesting ideas or questions begin to creep in.
With little mental breaks like these, you might find yourself attacking job-related problems with more creativity, or start asking new questions. Can I (or my staff) truly read a balance sheet and uncover an imminent cash flow problem? Is my firm ready for regulatory changes under Dodd-Frank? And what’s going on in Europe? Are the capital requirements recommended by the Basel committee applicable to my firm?
So our recommendation is this: resolve to give yourself a few minutes every day to empty your mind. Then write down whatever questions came up. When you have your list of questions, come to SS&C Zoologic Learning Solutions for answers.
We can create a customized program of online self-study courses that can be taken anytime, anywhere, in whatever time you have available. Our state-of-the-art Learning Management System can track your progress, store your test scores and remind you about what is next in your personalized learning plan.
We believe the key to success is in setting manageable goals, and taking the "quick hit" of endorphins that comes from achieving something worthwhile. We hope you will allow Zoologic Learning Solutions to help you pursue your path to professional growth in 2012.
