For the fourth year in a row, SS&C Advent has won the Waters Rankings award for “Best Accounting System Provider.” This is a huge honor as the Waters Rankings 2018 are one of the few award programs where the WatersTechnology readers determine the category winners.
We are thrilled that the functionality we have built into our industry-leading accounting systems, Geneva and Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) has been consistently recognized year after year. We are committed to continuous investment in R&D and determined to develop solutions that help our users flourish in an increasingly complex and demanding world. Read on for a few ways we have sought to position our client for success.
Streamlined processes to drive operating efficiencies
With industry margins under sustained pressure, it is crucial for the investment management community to find ways to drive efficiencies. To this end, with the latest Geneva releases, we have focused on streamlining workflows across the platform; from automating the cash settlement of options, to adding calculation flexibility for swap investments to ease counterparty reconciliation.
One client notes that, “By switching to Geneva, we have a stable core system that we can build on, rather than an aging system that we were working around. We are ready to handle just about anything that comes our way,” Director of Technology, Institutional Asset Management Firm.
For our APX users, we have enhanced position reconciliation reports to reduce matching times, better manage ‘pending trades,’ and streamline downstream workflows. We have also worked on CRM enhancements to further bolster accuracy, automation and reporting on client relationships
Another client, Peter Rieke, Chief Compliance Officer and Manager of Information Technology, Disciplined Growth Investors, has shared that, “We look at SS&C Advent as an important partner. APX is the hub of our operations.”
Easing the compliance burden
Helping our clients navigate the complex global regulatory environment is an ongoing priority for us. For example, the APX suite features new capabilities to facilitate compliance with both the European Union’s MiFID II, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements around data retention and security.
Leading the industry on outsourcing
Important as developing new functionality is, that’s not all we’re focusing on. We believe outsourcing is the future, and we’re working hard to deliver all its benefits to clients through Advent Outsourcing Services™ (AOS) for both Geneva and APX clients. AOS was recently recognized as “Best Outsourcing Provider” during the 2018 FTF New Awards.
Our goal is to provide clients with a true “any or all” range of premium outsourcing options from cloud delivery of our technology solutions, to a customizable menu of operational services, to full business process outsourcing. By using AOS, firms are able to alleviate their middle- and back-office burdens, optimize productivity, reduce operational risk and costs, enhance business scalability and free up staff for other value-add activities.
Delivering value beyond accounting
Robert Roley, SS&C Advent’s General Manager, points out: “To compete, asset managers must have the right processes and technology infrastructure in place to maintain their current business, while having the scalability and flexibility to support new investor types, fund types and/or jurisdictional regulations. Having a service provider that can help support these efforts will save firms money, time and headaches down the road.”
We strive to be a strategic partner to our clients and do all we can to meet their evolving needs. As we look forward to the WatersRanking 2019, we are excited to continue to build on the success of this year with a dedicated focus on our clients.
